   Much of our design support has been in the area of design implementation to meet reliability needs and noise reduction in the RF EMI domain. We can also help with checking designs for standards compliance where that is needed. We have completed SPICE analysis of circuits for customers and built models for, and performed, Quad XNS analysis of boards and systems to catch design problems prior to the building of the board. Such analysis saves cost and time in board turnarounds.

Partial Project List:

  • PCI and GTL bus designs for HiRelPCI system. This will be an IEEE standard 1996 upon completion.
  • PacketBus and TDM SONET structures to support extended systems to several thousand processors.
  • Fixed multiple backplane system designs and SCSI bus system to make reliable.
  • Sparc10 Clone implementation and derivatives: This project produced a Sparc10 clone board, several derivative products, and Mbus modules that was completely compatible with Sun products with 6 dB less radiated emissions.
  • Smart House Design: This project is designed and built with initial functionality available in 1992, with continuing design enhancements.
  • Professional Audio Data Transmission System: This system applies current ATM (Broadband ISDN) techniques and frame structure to AES/EBU standards for studio and Sound Reinforcement audio systems.
  • Professional Audio Digital Mixer system design: Additional support for Studio and Sound Reinforcement professional applications.
  • Backplane redesign for existing 16-slot system with proper signal control environment: This redesign of a backplane turned a nonfunctional system into a useable product.
  • A Modem Board for PC based systems: This project involved custom FPGA design to control the dual processor interface and data pumps.
  • Backplane Systems for 20 Slot PCAT system: A 16 modem hub system.
  • Pentium and Pentium Pro designs for existing backplane structure.
  • Command Software for Space Shuttle Experiment: Space Shuttle Experimental pallet control system. This system has flown several times.
  • Video Editing Suite machine control software: Control software for VideoDisc Recorder and Video Tape Recorders.
  • Five processor Serial machine control system: This board controlled up to 10 video machines for a Video Editing Console.
  • Encryption System for file system and serial communications: Designed and built prototype for data encrypting system. System was completed, and demonstrated, with functional hardware and software.
  • Participation in the Scalable Coherent Interface Standard 1 Gigabyte/Second bus design: Analytical and functional support of the SCI committee through the completion of the IEEE standard.
  • System Reliability Studies: Several applications of our high-speed system experience to help solve customer problems.
  • System Design review for client companies: Provided independent audit for system design.
  • Training in high performance Bus systems: Customer Training in High Speed System Principals to Companies.
  • Litigation support for Patent and Design Infringement Cases. Research and Support for various Litigation’s.

Support of IEEE activities including heading US delegation to IEC: Supported IEEE as Chief delegate to the IEC SC-47B meetings.
